Sunday 9th October, 2011
Itibari (2yrs) & Neema (3yrs) Classes
This Sunday the 2-3 year olds learnt how Jesus sends people to care for us. Jesus told a story involving the cold apathy of two religious leaders and the unlikely compassion of a Samaritan. A priest and a Levite ignored an injured man, but the Samaritan helped the man, carried him to an inn for further aid, then paid for his care. (Luke 10:25-37).
Aim:
- Children to understand what Jesus cares for them.
- Children will see that Jesus helps others care for them.
Imani (4-5 yrs) Class
This Sunday the 4-5 year olds learnt about thanking God. Hannah loved her son, Samuel, very much shed waited years for him-all the while enduring the taunts of Peninnah, her husband’s other wife. But as much as Hannah loved Samuel, she honored her promise to return him to God. Although she must have been sad to leave Samuel at the house of the Lord, she knew God would care for Samuel, just as he’d cared for her. (1 Samuel 1:21-2:2).
Aim:
That the children will:
- Thank God for meeting basic needs such as food and shelter.
- Thank God for others in the class.
Verse to learn:
Psalm 107:1a – “Give thanks to the Lord”
