  • Children will know that it’s important to care for others.

Samuel ran to Eli’s side to see how he could help but was puzzled when Eli realized that it was God who was calling Samuel. . (1 Samuel 3:1-21).

Aim:

That the children will:

Itibari (2yrs) & Neema (3yrs) Classes

This Sunday the 2-3 year olds started a new curriculum on Jesus cares. This week they started with the parable of the good Samaritan, Jesus compared the cold apathy of two religious leaders with the compassion of a Samaritan-a people the Jews typically despised. The unlikely Samaritan was the one who stopped and helped an injured man. Through this parable, Jesus taught that true compassion transcends ethnic and religious barriers.  (Luke 10:25-37).

Aim:

  • Children to understand what caring means.
  • Children will realize that Jesus cares for them all the time..

Imani (4-5 yrs) Class

This Sunday the 4-5 year olds started a new curriculum on Samuel. As others worshipped jubilantly around her, Hannah wept. The customary recital of God’s blessings only deepened her despair. Why hadn’t God blessed her? Her inability to bear children plagued her day and night. Even as Hannah worshipped at the house of the Lord, other women harshly pointed out her inability to enhance her status by producing a child. In spite of her husband’s reassurances, Hannah cried and cried. Then one day she gave her sorrow to God. She prayed fervently for a son and promised God she’d give the boy back to Him. (1 Samuel 1:1-20).

Aim:

That the children will:

  • Discover ways they can listen to God.

Verse to learn:

Psalm 107:1a – “Give thanks to the Lord”

Sifa (6-7yrs), Shangwe (8-9yrs) & Johari (10-11yrs) Classes

That the children and pre-teens will:

  • Know that if they can confess any sin in their life and regain the joy of their friendship with God.
