This Sunday the 2-3 year olds started a new curriculum on Jesus Loves Us. Jesus considered children Precious treasures. Jesus embraced children with His words, His arms, His Heart and the little ones who once seemed inconsequential were given the keys to Heaven. (Mark 10:14-16)
Aim:
 Children will learn that Jesus loves little children.
 Children will discover a new way to say I love you.

Imani (4-5 yrs) Class
This Sunday the 4-5 year olds started a new curriculum on prayer power. In the early days of the church in Jerusalem, the apostles used their God given power to heal the sick and proclaim the message of Christ.
Aim:
That the children will:
 Talk about times that they pray.
 Hear how Peter’s friends prayed for him while he was in prison and also pray for each other
Verse to learn:
1 Cor 12:27 “Now you are the body of Christ and each one of you is a part of it”

Sifa (6-7yrs), Shangwe (8-9yrs) & Johari (10-11yrs) Classes
This Sunday, the 6-11 year olds’ reviewed the lessons on Jesus coming as a baby and living a perfect life.
Aim:
That the children and pre-teens will:
 Understand how God is the Head of the trinity by demonstrating how water is once substance that can be in three different forms them not because of their good works, but because of His mercy.

This Sunday the 2-3 year olds started a new curriculum on Jesus came as a baby. The miraculous birth of Jesus in a stable in Bethlehem evoked a variety of reactions: rejoicing among the angels, reverence in the shepherds, searching questions from the wise men, and jealousy from Herod.  (Luke 2:1-20).

Aim:

  • Children will learn that baby Jesus was born.
  • Children will learn that grew just as they are growing and thank God for Jesus.

Imani (4-5 yrs) Class

This Sunday the 4-5 year olds started a new curriculum on Jesus is born. It happened on a day like any other. Mary was tending her daily routine when an angel appeared before her. The message he brought sent her world spinning in confusion, surprise and excitement. She was to be the mother of God’s Son!. (Luke 1:26-38).

Aim:

That the children will:

  • Talk about things that surprise them.
  • Thank God for his special gift.

Verse to learn:

Luke 1:47 – “My heart rejoices in God my Saviour.”

This Sunday, the 6-11 year olds’ reviewed the lessons on Jesus Parables and did a memory verse championship.

Aim:

That the children and pre-teens will:

  • Realize that God forgives them not because of their good works, but because of His mercy.
  • Memorize the verses taught through the parable series.

This Sunday the 2-3 year olds started a new curriculum on the Bible is God’s book. Josiah came to the throne of Judah when he was eight years old. Josiah loved God, and because his father had defiled God’s Temple with idols.  (2Chronicles 34:1-35:19).

Aim:

  • Children to learn that God gave us the bible.
  • Children will know that God loves them.

 

Imani (4-5 yrs) Class

This Sunday the 4-5 year olds started a new curriculum on Paul and Silus. When Paul cast out a demonic spirit from a slave girl, he and Silas were beaten and thrown in an inner cell of a Philippian prison. However, persecution and physical misery didn’t stop Paul and Silas from raising their voices in praise to God. (Acts 16:16-34).

Aim:

That the children will:

  • Talk about singing when they’re afraid.
  • Learn that God enjoys hearing their praises.

Verse to learn:

Psalm 47:6a – “Sing praises to God”

This Sunday, the 6-11 year olds’ learnt on the Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax collector. Jesus shows us that God is merciful and forgiving. (Luke 18:10-14)

This Sunday the 2-3 year olds reviewed how we can be happy that Jesus cares. In the Parable of the Good Samaritan, the stranger’s compassion and kindness saved not only the injured man’s life but surely saved his faith in others as well.  (Luke 10:25-37).

Aim:

  • Children to understand what Jesus cares for them.
  • Children will know that it’s important to care for others.

 

Imani (4-5 yrs) Class

This Sunday the 4-5 year olds reviewed  how we can obey when God calls us. When Samuel heard someone calling in the night, he was sure it must be Eli, the priest. Eli had grown old, and his eyes were so weak that he was nearly blind. Samuel was young and strong-he was glad to help the man who’d cared for him most of his life. Samuel ran to Eli’s side to see how he could help but was puzzled when Eli realized that it was God who was calling Samuel. . (1 Samuel 3:1-21).

Aim:

That the children will:

  • Practice listening and following directions.
  • Ask God to help them obey him.

Verse to learn:

Psalm 107:1a – “Give thanks to the Lord”

This Sunday, the 6-11 year olds’ learnt on the Parable of the Prodigal Son. Jesus shows us that God is a Loving God. (Luke 15:11-32)

  • Recognize that God’s desire is for each of them to follow Him.

This Sunday the 2-3 year olds learnt how we can care for others just as Jesus does. The good Samaritian’s compassion for a man he didn’t know is a powerful illustration of the kind of caring love that Jesus desires us to nurture and practice all the time .  (Luke 10:25-37).

  • Children to understand what Jesus cares for them.
  • Children will learn ways they can care for others.

 

Imani (4-5 yrs) Class

This Sunday the 4-5 year olds learnt how they can grow up Godly. Although Samuel was living far away from his family’s home, he was never far from their thoughts. Each year when Hannah and Elkanah went to the house of the lord to worship,Hannah would bring Samuel a new coat. It must have been a joy to her to see how much her son had grown and how much he was learning about God . (1 Samuel 2:11-18-21).

Aim:

That the children will:

  • Learn that they can grow on the inside as well as on the outside.
  • Thank God for others in the class.

This Sunday, the 6-11 year olds’ did a unit review on prayer where they concluded and discussed what they whole unit has meant for them. (Acts 12:1-18)

  • Begin a ministry of prayer for other Christians this week.

This Sunday the 2-3 year olds learnt how Jesus sends people to care for us. Jesus told a story involving the cold apathy of two religious leaders and the unlikely compassion of a Samaritan. A priest and a Levite ignored an injured man, but the Samaritan helped the man, carried him to an inn for further aid, then paid for his care.  (Luke 10:25-37).

Aim:

  • Children to understand what Jesus cares for them.
  • Children will see that Jesus helps others care for them.

 

Imani (4-5 yrs) Class

This Sunday the 4-5 year olds learnt about thanking God. Hannah loved her son, Samuel, very much shed waited years for him-all the while enduring the taunts of Peninnah, her husband’s other wife. But as much as Hannah loved Samuel, she honored her promise to return him to God. Although she must have been sad to leave Samuel at the house of the Lord, she knew God would care for Samuel, just as he’d cared for her. (1 Samuel 1:21-2:2).

Aim:

That the children will:

  • Thank God for meeting basic needs such as food and shelter.
  • Thank God for others in the class.

This Sunday the 2-3 year olds started a new curriculum on Jesus cares. This week they started with the parable of the good Samaritan, Jesus compared the cold apathy of two religious leaders with the compassion of a Samaritan-a people the Jews typically despised. The unlikely Samaritan was the one who stopped and helped an injured man. Through this parable, Jesus taught that true compassion transcends ethnic and religious barriers.  (Luke 10:25-37).

Aim:

  • Children to understand what caring means.
  • Children will realize that Jesus cares for them all the time..

 

Imani (4-5 yrs) Class

This Sunday the 4-5 year olds started a new curriculum on Samuel. As others worshipped jubilantly around her, Hannah wept. The customary recital of God’s blessings only deepened her despair. Why hadn’t God blessed her? Her inability to bear children plagued her day and night. Even as Hannah worshipped at the house of the Lord, other women harshly pointed out her inability to enhance her status by producing a child. In spite of her husband’s reassurances, Hannah cried and cried. Then one day she gave her sorrow to God. She prayed fervently for a son and promised God she’d give the boy back to Him. (1 Samuel 1:1-20).

Aim:

That the children will:

  • Discover ways they can listen to God.

  • Know that if they can confess any sin in their life and regain the joy of their friendship with God.

Itibari (2yrs) & Neema (3yrs) Classes

This Sunday the 2-3 year olds learnt how they are thankful that they can talk to God. Hannah was a woman whose prayers to God reflected her strong faith. Hannah prayed to God with silent lips and an earnest heart. With somber words, Hannah told God her deep sorrow at being childless. And with joyous words, Hannah praised and thanked God for his unending love. The story of Hannah is a wonderful illustration of the hope we have when we speak to God.  (1 Samuel 3:1-19).

Aim:

  • Children to discover that they can talk to God any time.
  • Children will learn that God hears them when they talk to him and thank God for answering their prayers.

 

 

Imani (4-5 yrs) Class

This Sunday the 4-5 year olds learnt about a miraculous catch of fish. After Jesus’ death and resurrection, his followers returned to their fishing boats. When Peter declared, “I’m going out to fish,” six other followers joined him. These experienced fishermen fished all night but caught nothing. They must have laughed when a man, who first appeared to be a stranger, suggested they try casting their nets on the other side of the boat. But when the nests quickly filled with fish, one disciple recognized the risen Lord. (John 21:1-13).

Aim:

That the children will:

  • Pretend to go fishing with the disciples and fill a net with “fish” prayers as they name things they’re thankful for.

Philippians 4:13 – “I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength”
